Welcome to sun and moon care.

About myself & sun and moon care:

I am Heather.

In 2021, I graduated from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling with a Master’s in Professional Mental Health Counseling…

But, I decided to pursue a holistic path studying acupuncture, integrative medicine, and Traditional Chinese herbal medicine, that same year.

I knew I could also come back to completing my license as a mental health professional after becoming a licensed acupuncturist.

During the first year of studying acupuncture (the Year of the Water Tiger) I was assaulted - randomly - in the middle of the day, on my way home from school. In the midst of recovering from a concussion, I felt inspired by something greater than myself to establish a website - this website, sun and moon care.

sun and moon care is an offering of inspiration, energy work, and healing.

Dedicated to illuminating your full potential.

May you walk gently on the earth,

I believe that each challenge in life provides an opening; an opportunity for re-alignment to the true freedom, beauty, and authenticity.

A little more about me.

What do you do in your free time?

I love being out in nature, especially near the Pacific Ocean. I love reading and am usually delving into a topic about health, spirituality, or psychology/self-cultivation. I treasure moments being with friends. Spiritual practices fill my heart. Traveling does, too. Writing and journaling are parts of self-expression I have carried into my daily practices since I was young.

What do you love?

Aside from TCM/holistic health- I love learning about systems such as Human Design, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and the Enneagram. My energy type is a 4/6 Splenic Projector, so I love invitations to share what I learn. My biggest interest is helping people learn how to get un-stuck by illuminating their full potential and guiding them to embrace authentic change.

I also love eating fresh fruit (persimmons and raspberries), baking bread, and astrology.

Why did you choose to study TCM/East Asian medicine?

I feel like sometimes acupuncture chose me. I began receiving acupuncture for the first time during my last year of graduate school studying to become a mental health counselor. I noticed a change in how I viewed the world, my emotions, and the clients I worked with during my internships. I felt a deep curiosity and calling. Once I learned more about acupuncture, I realized I felt at home in this medicine in a way that added depth to my love of psychology and liberation.
